Walking an Ancient Path

“Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.’”
— Jeremiah 6:16 (NKJV)

Welcome,
whether you’re returning to the faith after a long detour or have been walking with Christ for years, this page is here to help you deepen, rekindle, and refine your walk with Him.

We believe the surest way forward is to build on the strongest foundation—not tradition for tradition’s sake, but the very roots of how Christ’s disciples lived and taught.

We look to the original blueprint for spiritual life: Orthodox Christianity, as handed down by the earliest apostles. This is not about denominations or man-made labels. It’s about rediscovering the simplicity, discipline, and beauty of the faith as it was lived in the first century... unchanged, unfiltered, and preserved through apostolic succession.

A faith passed down by those who walked with Christ, taught by the Holy Spirit, and built the Church through their blood, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion.

Rekindle & Deepen Your Faith

Faith isn’t static... it grows, matures, and sometimes needs revival. Whether you’ve been away for a while or have walked with Christ for decades, this is your space to reconnect, go deeper, and embrace the fullness of life in Him.

Where Should I Begin?

Revitalize Your Prayer Life

Begin or renew a daily prayer habit, even if just 5–10 minutes of honest conversation with God.

Prayer is not simply speaking into the air... it is entering into the very presence of God. In the first-century Church, prayer was woven into daily life like breath itself. The hours of prayer, psalms, and personal petitions kept believers anchored in Christ no matter their circumstances.

Ways to Begin:

  • Establish a rule of prayer—fixed times each day to pray, even if brief.
  • Use Scripture-based prayers and psalms as the apostles did.
  • Reintroduce the Jesus Prayer (“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner”) as a constant heartbeat of faith.

Reconnect with Scripture

Start with the Gospels to re-center on the life and words of Jesus.

The early Christians didn’t just read Scripture—they lived it, memorized it, prayed it. The Old Testament revealed Christ in shadow; the New Testament revealed Him in fullness.

How to Deepen Your Scripture Life:

  • Follow the daily lectionary readings used by the ancient Church.
  • Read with the eyes of the apostles—understanding the unity of Old and New Testaments.
  • Avoid cherry-picking verses; seek the whole counsel of God’s Word.

Engage with Your Church Community

Find a church, attend a Bible study, join a fellowship group, or service project.

Christianity is not a solo journey. The apostles established communities where believers carried one another’s burdens, corrected one another in love, and labored together in prayer and service.

Steps for Rooted Fellowship:

  • Connect with a faithful, apostolic church body.
  • Serve alongside others—faith grows in action.
  • Surround yourself with people who encourage holiness.

Meet with Your Priest or Pastor

Consider setting up a time to share your journey, ask questions, and receive spiritual guidance.

One of the most important steps in returning to—or deepening—your walk with Christ is to sit down with your priest. In the early Church, faith was never meant to be lived in isolation. The apostles personally guided believers, offering spiritual counsel, correction, and encouragement. That same pastoral care continues today through the priesthood, handed down in unbroken succession from those who first walked with Christ.

When you meet with your priest, go with an open heart and a willingness to be transparent. Share where you’ve been, where you feel God is leading you, and where you struggle. This is not about judgment—it’s about healing, direction, and restoration.

Your priest can help you:

  • Discern your next steps in returning to the fullness of the faith.
  • Address past wounds—whether spiritual, emotional, or relational.
  • Prepare for confession so you can approach it with clarity and peace.
  • Reconnect with the life of the Church, its sacraments, and its community.

If it’s been years—or even decades—since you’ve been part of the Church, know that your return is cause for rejoicing. Take the time to form a relationship with your priest; he is there to shepherd your soul, to help you navigate challenges, and to encourage you as you grow deeper in Christ.

Recommit to the Sacraments

Participate regularly in Communion, Confession, and other life-giving practices of the Church.

The apostles taught that grace is not abstract—it’s received in tangible ways. Baptism, Chrismation, Eucharist, Confession… these are not man-made rituals, but divine mysteries entrusted to the Church for the life of the believer.

Reflection:
If you’ve been away, return to the sacraments with humility and joy. Approach the Eucharist with reverence, Confession with repentance, and Baptism as the doorway into the Body of Christ.

Get Back To Basics

The way forward is not to reinvent the faith, but to return to the foundation built by Christ.

Root yourself in the unshakable traditions of the early Church, and you'll find that your walk with Christ grows deeper, steadier, and more alive than ever before.
